Legion, Auxiliary and S.A.L Programs

On June 2, 2018, Squadron 449 had a Josh Dog Fundraiser which earned $3500. These funds were donated to the State of Wisconsin, Sons if the American Legion, for future deployments. Then In November 2018, 400 Wisconsin Army National Guard soldiers of the 2nd Battalion, 127th Infantry had a send off ceremony at Lambeau Field.

The Wisconsin, Sons of The American Legion, bought their GI Josh Dogs for the children of the deploying soldiers. The 127th infantry is part of the 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, dubbed “Red Arrow,” which has historical ties in Wisconsin dating to the Civil War.

The grass roots fundraising by the Squadrons like 449, help to purchase the GI Josh Dogs for the children of deploying soldiers. You can continue to support by a random donation or with the purchase of Josh Challenge coins or mini Josh dogs. Every dollar earned, its the profits that goes to the Josh Dog Program. Thank you for your support!

Our new project is on its way! If you were at the December Meeting you got to meet “Hope” our Service Dog puppy. Hope is now living with her trainer Linda Bobot of Haven, Inc. Linda is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. Her specialty is training dogs for veterans who have PTSD. Each month I’ll be updating you on Hope and her training. From time to time Linda will be coming to our meetings so we can see her growing and progressing in her training. It will take 1 year for Hope to complete her training and then the lucky veteran that receives her will go through training together. I hope that everyone is as excited as I am about this project. A big Thank You to Becky Hawkins for our Puppy Hope. Diane Steckmann from Pet World for the food
